As much as I’d like to say otherwise, chances are you and I aren’t going to visit the International Space Station. My internal pessimist says that I’ll never have the dough to make the voyage, we’re no Sergey Brin, no matter how much we Google. My internal optimist says that by the time I get to orbit, there’ll be something better. Either way, it is unlikely we’re actually going to visit the station.
So, you’ll have to make do with view The Franklin’s Joel N. Bloom Observatory and Derek Pitts. The five dollar pricetag for non-members means your ticket will be six orders of magnitude cheaper. Tomorrow night, 7 until 10 PM. Here’s the full skinny in press release terms:
WHAT: The Franklin’s Joel N. Bloom Observatory is open the 2nd Thursday night of each month to view the night skies with the help of Chief Astronomer Derrick Pitts. This month visitors will be exploring the International Space Station (ISS), which NASA is almost finished assembling.
This extraordinary spacecraft and the people who designed, built and operated it will be discussed as the audience receives a guided tour inside the space station and a fly-around outside the 500 metric ton “island in space.”
