Skinner: Er, um, we need a name that’s witty at first, but that seems less funny each time you hear it.
Apu: How about, “The Be Sharps?”
[Everyone laughs loud at first, then less, then the laughter tapers off]
Skinner: Perfect!
The Simpsons, “Homer’s Barbershop Quartet”
February is ending and the long slog through March begins. Sure, you can fight the crowds next week to glance at some lovely, yet impossible, designs at the Philadelphia Flower Show, but if you want to really drink in the Spring, check out what’s happening next week at the Chemical Heritage Foundation (315 Chestnut Street).
sLowlife is a time-lapse multimedia exhibit on plant growth. Yes, I know, I’m telling you that you should go watch the grass grow. It should be exciting.
I’m not one to criticize the CHF, since I tend to love what they do, but it is a shame they couldn’t put some sample videos on YouTube for me to share with you. I’m sure there’s a legal reason — the exhibit originated at the Chicago Botanic Garden — but it would be nice.
So here’s Slow Life, from the Welsh band Super Furry Animals.
