This is timely, considering the nonsense that just popped up (and justifiably beaten down) in Texas . The Academy of Natural Science’s Town Hall series takes a look on how we are teaching our children about evolution.
Teaching Darwin in Elementary School

* Colin Purrington*, Ph.D.: Associate Professor of Evolutionary Biology, Swarthmore College;
In conjunction with the bicentennial of Charles Darwin’s birth, The Academy of Natural Sciences will host a panel discussion on teaching evolution to elementary schoolchildren. The panelists will discuss philosophical and practical obstacles to introducing evolution in elementary schools and will offer tips and advice for teachers and parents on ways to overcome them.
