Like a Voltron of science, four local science institutions have teamed to create a new science cafe. I will note that they ripped off the slogan that I used when I started the Penn Science Cafe: Eat. Drink. Learn Something. Where are my royalties?

Origins of Modern Terrorism at the Chemical Heritage Foundation 9/16

The Chemical Heritage Foundation’s venerable Brown Bag noontime series returns on Sept. 16th with a bang (Ha! Inappropriate!) with Mats Fridlund, who will discuss the “Materialist Origins of Modern Terrorism.”

Langer talks Biomaterials at CHF 9/25

Molecules that Matter at the CHF
The Chemical Heritage Foundation has opened up a new exhibit, Molecules That Matter, which “showcases ten organic molecules (aspirin; isooctane; penicillin G; nylon 6,6; polyethylene; DNA; progestin; DDT; Prozac; and buckminsterfullerene) that profoundly altered our world.”
Using large-scale models of the molecules, contemporary artworks by nationally recognized artists, and a range of historical objects and documents, [...]
