Science on Tap: Colin Purrington “Embracing Darwin” November 9, 6pm

[ November 9, 2009; 6:00 pm; ] I have to admit, Colin Purrington, Swarthmore prof and evolution activist, is one of my heroes. Check out his site, you’ll love it: http://www.swarthmore.edu/NatSci/cpurrin1/evolk12/evoops.htm

I really hope to make this particular cafe, even though I’ve seen him speak a bunch of times.

Bonus Science on Tap: November 2 at National Mechanics

[ November 2, 2009; 6:00 pm; ] The Chemical Heritage is trying to sneak in a “bonus” science cafe (which I hope doesn’t detract from Colin Purrington’s event on the ninth) with what promises to be a cool change of pace, a dramatic presentation by the Flashpoint Theater Company’s presentation of Boom.

[ April 3, 2009; 6:00 pm; ] When you say the name Darwin, I think it is safe to say most people generate a mental image of Charles Darwin as an old, bearded man. This image, in fact:

Well, that or something similar. But what most people don’t realize is that when Darwin took his fateful voyage aboard the Beagle, he was [...]

The Unforgivable Absence of Darwin Day Stuff == Penn Museum’s Darwin Day and Evolution Teach-in (2/15)

[ February 15, 2009; 1:00 pm; ] Happy Birthday, Chuck.

Unfortunately, nobody’s been blogging here about Chuck D’s b-day. There are plenty of events to attend, check the Year of Evolution site for more details. I promise we’ll do better to blog about it and, if the family lets me, report on a few.

It isn’t too late to attend the Penn Museum’s Darwin [...]
